True Story of Student from Phnom Penh, Cambodia

His name is Chan Sopheak, 23 years old, He has 3 sisters and 3 brothers, he lives around Stung Mean Chey District, his training is Food&Beverages Management, working at T-bone Steakhouse. This is His true story.

Chan Sopheak is working in one restaurant

The day in the past, one family has full members are eight peoples.They were very poor, but parents never forgot to bring their children to school as the same other kids. Everyday, their parents always leave from house early morning to working as construction workers. Their mother not enough powerful just help her husband when he needed something only. All children always helped their parents when they left from school or any free time. Even their family were poor, but they  were happy, never had argument with other neighborhoods ......etc. very!!! bad day is come their full family had not enough money to buy the medicine for their parents and other foods. So all their children decided  to drop out their study to find the money for their family by gathering the garbage, bottles, cans, and other kind of plastic.

He was a member of among their children too. At that time he was six years old. Sometime, working, eating, and sleeping on the dump site.
He didn't want to do that, but in his family needed money and much more ....etc. The bad situation passed away and beautiful day came on the dump site again. Had one french couple visited Cambodia first time around the Stung Mean Chey district, and they was so very sad when they saw many Cambodian children are working in very hard condition on the dump site. Some of those couple was younger and another one older and can be the retired people.When he was walking with his friends in front of french couple they caught me and other friends hand then they asked us.

French Couple ask "Hello, how are you? How long all of you been on the dump? Are you exhausted? How can we help you?", he and Friends replied " Hello, we are not so fine as you see we are exhausted, we been here since the early morning that other people sleeping. In this morning very cool we are shivering".

Our response is not too strong voice because no power and also was hungry and wait for our lunch time. So why both of you asking him like that what you can help us? How? If it was true first thing we need is "Meals" now we are starving, sorry we need to go our parents waiting us for lunch bye see you next time. The word see you next from us make the french couple memorable. Second day coming faster the french couple came to the dump site again with many kind of foods like breads, candy, and other things for us. We was very enjoyed eating together on the dump site with smiling.  After ate, French couple said "what you need?  and what we can help you more". Then we answered seriously " we want to study", " Could you build the school for us even it small or big as you can", we continued question.

We don't want to spend our whole life with that bad situation anymore because it too spoliation, dirty, and always looked down from someone in the society. After finished their questions with us, french couple went back to their home and thought. Then they desired to find the best qualified of teachers, full of compassion, and affection to the children etc. Before they build the school, they just build a small wooden canteen for us first which near our house to make us to early eat and they also took a shower everyday for us with good smell of shampoo before we went to work on the dump-site.

When the school was built completely, french couple came to see us again with many teachers and they was very kind to us when they saw us. We was very surprised and warm of welcome from them. His friends and him was selected to study in this organization "Pour un Sourire d'Enfant" and in English "The Smile of Children Center " . They put the name of this organization by they saw our smiling. 

From day by day, we was faster and faster to grow and had high education, morality, skill, languages, ......etc. When we was a youth, his friends and him had many choices to have a train for the futures. For him, He had a good training selection that I felt in love since He was a young involved of hospitality industry. He tried to copy styles of his teacher technique. 

After he spent three year for food &beverage management training he also had very good result. So now he could pass away from the bad situation by all teachers pave the good ways for him.
